Squigglers are a nocturnal, predatory creature encountered by Destiny expedition on a Jungle planet in 2009.

Overview

Squigglers have an opaque soft exoskeleton with six small legs near their mouths which they uses to crawl around and eat. Squigglers also have six muscular octopus-like arms and green blood. Squigglers are very aggressive at night. The creatures also have several rows of shiny teeth in their mouths. They use their major arms to be able to jump and attack prey. Squigglers can also hang from tree branches and let go over their prey and can jump several feet from the ground to different prey. The creatures sleeps during the day.

The creature also has yellow venom that it injects into its prey that causes a temporary paralysis leading to coma-like state. Squiggler digging a hole in their bites to be able to eat the victim from the inside out. The creature lives in termite-like nest, which secretes a sulfur smell. Its poison in small doses has a stunning-like effect that might interfere with Hoth virus and an Alien tick. However, its venom had no effect on another alien creature. Alternate Timeline

As the off-world team quarantined themselves on the Jungle planet, the creatures attacked during the night. Eventually, these creatures would kill all but Lt. Matthew Scott and Dr. Nicholas Rush. Rush, due to an attempt to return to Destiny during a creature attack, inadvertently traveled back in time while Scott presumably followed some time later along with the Kino, resetting the timeline.
During the attempt to obtain the creatures' venom, several soldiers, including MSgt. Ronald Greer and Colonel Everett Young, were killed by them. This timeline was also reset by Lt. Matthew Scott in the same manner but with additional instructions. (SGU: "Time")
