"Lost City, Part 1" is the twenty-first episode of the seventh season of Stargate SG-1.

As the episode begins, Colonel Jack O'Neill is in his home, shaving. On the bathroom mirror in front of him hangs an unfinished crossword puzzle which he is trying to solve. As he shaves, he receives a call on his cell phone which, after several rings, he eventually answers. On the other end is Dr. Daniel Jackson. He informs O'Neill that SG-2 has returned from P3X-439 where an Ancient Repository of knowledge may be located that could potentially contain information as to the location of the Lost City they've been looking for. Knowing the information from the repository almost killed him in 1999, he is initially skeptical about Daniel's desire to investigate further. He tells Jackson he will be at Stargate Command in half an hour before hanging up, while continuing to shave and solve the crossword.

While they both argue over whose taxi it is, both in English and Russian, a limousine stops nearby, and the driver asks for a Dr. Elizabeth Weir. The blond woman acknowledges, revealing that she is Dr. Weir. She then surrenders the taxi to the Russian man and enters the limo, in which Vice President Robert Kinsey is sitting. (Read more...)

About Stargate

Stargate is a military science fiction franchise, initially conceived by Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin. The film that began the franchise was simply titled Stargate. Theatrically released on October 28, 1994 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Carolco, it became a worldwide hit, grossing nearly $200 million (USD) worldwide. Three years later, Canadian Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner created a television series entitled Stargate SG-1 as a sequel for the film. Stargate SG-1 briefly held the record for the longest-running North American science fiction show in history with a total of ten seasons and 214 episodes. This series would set the scene for Stargate's ongoing legacy.

Stargate - The Ark of Truth
In 2004, Stargate SG-1's first spin-off series, entitled Stargate: Atlantis, was released. Stargate: Atlantis concluded January 9, 2009 after five seasons and 100 episodes. A second Stargate spin-off series, entitled Stargate Universe, began airing on October 2, 2009 and concluded after 2 seasons. As of May 9, 2011, with the series finale of Stargate Universe, no new episodes of the Stargate franchise are planned for production, leaving the franchise with a total of 354 canon episodes. However, On May 29, 2014, Warner Brothers and MGM announced plans to reboot the Stargate franchise in the form in a new feature film trilogy. (Read more...)
