Finally, an episode that was actually not that bad. I would say in order of "goodness", this is second only to Air, Part 1. Although, again, I wish they would stop the religious references. Oh, and I liked how Eli was getting some shoulder action... so it wasn't all bad for him. :) —Anubis 10545 (talk) (Contribs) 05:16, October 24, 2009 (UTC)

Greer is officially my favourite character. Jamil W. Smith delivers some kick ass lines and makes Greer feel like the most fleshed out character. While it feels like everyone is still settling into who they're portraying, it seems like Smith has got Greer down. Once again, Eli solves a problem off-screen. Still no technobabble. Even Scott has the line "spectrographic analysis". Kal'el T | C - 05:33, October 24, 2009 (UTC)

Earth[]

To dial a night chevron adress they needed energy of planet core. In this episode they have energy of the entire star why they didn't try to dial? --83.27.11.229 21:34, October 24, 2009 (UTC)

Well, seeing that they thought they were going to die and had no idea they could survive entering a star right up until they were almost out of it... plus it took precise calculations to tap into the planet Icarus base was on's core.—Anubis 10545 (talk) (Contribs) 00:17, October 25, 2009 (UTC)
That actually leads into the argument that Rush knew they would survive. By letting the rest of the crew believe they were going to die instead of speculating that this was Destiny's "plan all along", that meant he wouldn't be asked to work on dialling the Gate while inside the star, collecting energy. I bet Young would give the order to dial Earth the next time they head into a star, but the current energy reserves could last years now, and collecting energy seems to be the only reason for Destiny to enter a star. Cheers. Kal'el T | C - 00:37, October 25, 2009 (UTC)
Not to mention the complications solar flares and large bodies of mass have caused with wormholes in the past, if they tried to dial out whilst in the core of the sun, there was no telling what might have happened to the wormhole.--joecool280 (talk) (Contribs) 00:47, October 25, 2009 (UTC)
Excellent point, I didn't even think of that. If Young ordered Rush to dial out, Rush would have a quick answer for him. Kal'el T | C - 02:54, October 25, 2009 (UTC)
I think Rush didn't know, but deep, deep down, he suspected. —Supakillaii (talk) (Contribs) 08:53, October 27, 2009 (UTC)

Quote[]

I can't get the part where Young is talking to Camile about how "These are the wrong people", out of my head. I just... I, there's something about that phrase. I mean, I think it's really great for some reason. And, just the way he says it so seriously... and that it's basically the "essence" of the entire series summed up into a sentence.—Anubis 10545 (talk) (Contribs) 06:08, October 27, 2009 (UTC)

Shadow of a person[]

Hi

I'm re watching SGU and i just noticed that at 32:59 just as destiny is resurfacing out of the star and we see a close-off the ship in one of the dome structure it looks like there is a person standing. As the camera swings away we see that the dome is far in front of destiny sow it inst the observation deck. Could it be that there are already people on Destiny which of the expedition doesn't now simply because they are staing in an other part of the ship? (it is a bug ship after all) And yes I know the show is over and there is now sense in talking about it but let us do some nice fan speculating...Anubissan (talk) (Contribs) 16:04, September 23, 2011 (UTC)
