[edit] # of Asgard Plasma Beam Weapons
It looked like on the last epesode of stargae sg1 (unending) the odyssey shot out beams from numerous locations thus resulting in more emmiter than 4.
That is true. Beyond that, the Daedalus was shown fighting Michael's hive in Search and Rescue. It flys past the cruiser, which is then hit with another beam. The Daedalus could not have turned around that fast and none of the current emmitters fire aft. This suggests at least one rear emitter. - User:Phoenix304
[edit] Invincible?
So can anyone give a good explination as to why the Odyssey was invincible in AoT. It had C4 detonated in the corridors, Replicators crawling through it, and was attacked by 4 Ori ships simultaneously. And yet only some glass broke. Not that I mind. I'm glad the Odyssey survived the movie. At least they didn't pull a Star Trek. - User:Phoenix304
- Well it's not like it wasn't damaged. There were explosions inside the ship, the power on the bridge was out, and one more hit and the Odyssey would have been destroyed. It came very close, but we don't know the extend of the damage. The part after the Ark was activated, they didn't show the Odyssey again. Although I've glad it survived too :)—Anubis 10545 08:23, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
I think the power on the bridge was out due to the Replicators and I think the Odyssey was able to take so many hits due to the ZPM: with that connected to the shields it probably made them much more powerful and able to take much more damage. Remember when the Daedalus used one to stop a solar flare??? McKay said that it made the shields a lot more powerful and that was with a ZPM that was at least partaily depleted. This one was full. It probably made the shields even more powerful. Part of the blasts did seem to be getting through though and I'm pretty sure the shields were nearly depleted there at the end so another couple shots probably would have finished them off. Also, the Replicators could have increased the shield's power and efficancy: they did it with hyperdrives before, so maybe they could do it with the shields. Also these may have been new shields given to the Odyssey by the Asgard in their last upgrade. Kvasir's ship was able to take multiple hits and no apparent damage in Camelot (although it wasn't shown if it was destroyed or not as it disapeared in Flesh and Blood) so maybe they gave them shields like that. Oh: and it the ships weren't shooting at the same time: they shot each taking turns with hitting the Odyssey with blasts.
Did it have a ZPM at that time? If it did, that explains a lot, but it is also possible that the Replicators made the shielding even stronger, because they are Replicators, and Replicators do what they want. --Undomesticatedequine69 (talk) (Contribs) 16:00, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
OK! Thanks for the answers. By the way, does anyone know where we got the # of Plasma beams. - User:Phoenix304

[edit] EATG (Enemy at the Gate)
And just where was the Odyssey during all this?—Anubis 10545 18:57, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
- EATG, I like that. And to answer your question:
McKay: How many ships do we have available?
Caldwell: Aside from ourselves, there's the Apollo and Sun Tzu.
Sheppard: What about the Odyssey?
Caldwell: It's on some secret mission even I'm not supposed to know about.
OOU, the writers probably didn't want to damage their other main ship or make it appear so useless. The Apollo was heavily damaged and the Sun Tzu was announced and practically destroyed, literally, in the span of one minute of episode time. —Ka'lel 21:20, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
You know when I heard that line, I thought it may have something to with one of the upcoming movies, something that we're not supposed to know about yet. BTW I don't think the Sun Tzu was destroyed, it was also crippled. —Swedish guy 15:23, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Unending
in unending, the odyssey's shields r depleted very fast. when they decide to turn around and attackt he ori ship, they destroy it but its shields r damaged alot. then they jump to another planet and drop off the crew which woulda gave it time to recharge a bit. but then one minute later, its shields r gone again.
and there were only 2 ships at the time i think. but in aot, there were 4 ori ships attacking it. i doubt the replicators coulda upgraded the shields even more than they already were. i mean like comon, our shields were so strong already and didn't the replicators get most of their knowledge from the asgard ships? so since the odyssey is like 99% asgard tech, how could it have goten any better?
even if u presume that the asgard core gave the replicator alot of knowledge.—SupremeCommander 16:19, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
