Plot
In The Nox, SG-1 travels to a world and discovers a seemingly primitive race. When Apophis arrives on the planet, O'Neill plans an ambush that had great consequences. The guards with Apophis were taken out, but Apophis himself had an energy shield so that most weapons could not harm him. O'Neill, Carter and Jackson were killed, and Teal'c was about to be shot when he disappeared.
Later, O'Neill, Jackson and Carter were then brought back to life by the Nox, a race of beings who have advanced healing powers, as well as the ability to cloak objects through psychic powers. The also revive a Jaffa guard. These beings continuously tried to talk SG-1 out of trying to defend them against Apophis, saying that they will not be hurt, as the Nox are strongly against any form of violence. Teal'c then went in to see the Jaffa who he recognised as one that he had trained while he was in the service of the Goa'uld. This guard escapes from the Nox and SG-1 and found Apophis, who he tells about the Nox.
Apophis and his surviving guards then found a Nox child, who he kills. SG-1 and the Nox later find this child, and the Nox went back to their camp to carry out the healing ceremony to brought him back to life. While the Nox are carrying out this ceremony, SG-1 went out to find and eliminate Apophis, after finding that weapons with slower ammunition, such as a bow and arrow can penetrate Apophis' forcefield.
SG-1 take out the Jaffa guards, and O'Neill corners Apophis with his bow and arrow. He fires the weapon, then just as the arrow is about to hit Apophis, he disappears, due to a nearby Nox who saw the attack.
The Nox then showed SG-1 where the Stargate was (which they had cloaked) and forbade them to come back. O'Neill protested, saying that the Nox needed protection against the Goa'uld, which was when the Nox uncloaked their city in the sky that they actually live on which proved that they were really an advanced civilization and only appeared primitive to those that visited.

Notes
- Unfortunatly in "The Nox" production was falling behind and the episode was aired prematurly due to lack of time. As a result Apophis's voice over is missing.
- The title of the episode refers to the race discovered within the episode. Nox is also the Roman Goddess of the night.
- The initial worries of the Defense Secretary begin a long-running theme of malcontent towards the SGC, which ultimately leads to rogue elements of the NID beginning their own operations to obtain alien technology.
- This is the first episode to feature one of the races from the Alliance of four great races.
