In the universe of the real-life The Simpsons, the actor Richard Dean Anderson, who portrayed O'Neill in real life, and the Stargate franchise itself both exist. In the episode "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bangalore", Patty and Selma kidnap Anderson from a Stargate SG-1 convention. This leads to a strange "mutually fictional" situation. Presumably, in the Stargate universe, this episode either does not exist or its plot is different.

Voice actor Dan Castellaneta, know for portraying the voices of several characters, particularly Homer Simpson, has guest starred in the episode "Citizen Joe" as Joe Spencer.
