The X-Files was a highly popular TV series shown on Earth. When losing her memory, Vala Mal Doran was said to have seen re-runs of the show every night after she finished work at Sol's Diner. (SG1: "Memento Mori")

- The X-Files has aired a total of 201 episodes in its run and was, for a time, the longest running Science fiction series in North America. That fact served as an in-joke on Memento Mori, being the 202nd episode of the Stargate SG-1 series.
- Several actors who played on The X-Files would have roles in the Stargate franchise. They include;
