"If we can get to the transport before they land their troops, we stand a chance."
Col. David Telford[src]

The Troopship[1] was a Goa'uld ship used to transport Jaffa to the surface of a planet a Goa'uld intended to conquer.

Overview

The troopship is similar in appearance to a Tel'tak but is far larger, surpassing even an Al'kesh in height. They are capable of carrying large numbers of Jaffa and deploying them onto the battlefield. It is unknown if the craft contains weapons or shields.

History

Several troopships were present during Zipacna's invasion of Revanna in 2002. (SG1: "Last Stand")

One was seen by Rya'c on the planet the Stargate destroyer was located on. It was parked on the surface with several Death Gliders at the base near the device. (SG1: "Redemption, Part 2")

When Anubis traveled to Abydos to locate the Eye of Ra, he sent a squadron of Death Gliders to the surface along with a Troopship full of Jaffa. When the ship landed, Teal'c fired a FIM-92 Stinger missile at it but it had little effect. (SG1: "Full Circle") Anubis later sent a Troopship to P3X-439 in an effort to retrieve an Ancient Repository of knowledge. (SG1: "Lost City, Part 1")

Following the fall of the Goa'uld Empire, several Troopships fell into the hands of the Lucian Alliance. One of the ships was used in their attack on Icarus Base. (SGU: "Air, Part 1")
