Synopsis
Edit
Airman Darren Becker watches Dr. Inman make synthetic flavors.
Plot
Edit
Eli Wallace guides a Kino into one of the labs on the ship, where Darren Becker is observing Inman, who is trying to replicate certain chemicals to make flavors in the water to make the rations more palatable. She hands Becker a sample, who smells it, noticing the aroma of banana. Inman says it is possible to replicate esters to several kinds of fruit. When Becker suggests they should make chocolate, Inman says that that requires 12,000 chemicals, and no scientist is able to replicate the taste of chocolate properly. As Becker continues to talk, they hear and feel an explosion nearby (possibly the one where Hunter Riley gets injured), not knowing what just happened. The two, as well as other curious crew members move to investigate what has transpired.

Background notes
Edit
- This webisode takes place after "Water" and possibly during "Earth" as the explosion heard at the end could be the one that injured Riley.
- Just before the explosion, Becker mentions Valetnine's Day is approaching, indicating that the first season of Universe takes place in the first few months of 2009.
- Chelah Horsdal previously played Lt. Womack in the Stargate SG-1 episodes "New Order, Part 2", "Endgame", "Full Alert", "Ethon" and "The Pegasus Project" and Erran in the Stargate: Atlantis episode "Tracker".
