Wraith beaming devices (also called culling beams or transporters) are transportation devices used by the Wraith when culling a planet. Incorporated into Wraith Darts, the beams will shoot out of the dart, scooping up any organic beings that they capture, but they appear to distinguish between organic and inanimate objects. Once they are rematerialized on the hive ship, their body appears to suffer the same effects as being hit by a stunner. The Wraith themselves also use it to transport soldiers into battle, but they are unaffected by the stunning effects, as are people who use the Wraith enzyme. (ATL: "Rising", "The Siege", "Duet", "The Lost Boys")
These transporters are also used in a Wraith weapon research lab where they were used to transport personnel between the different levels. However these transported without the stunning effect. (ATL: "Reunion")
It is unknown what effect the transporter has on a baby. As a precaution, Sheppard held Torren John whilst piloting a Dart and "scooping" up the rest of his team. (ATL: "Search and Rescue")
